Brief statement from Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) Executive Director Scott Paul on the naming of Ron Bloom as the Obama Administration's Senior Counselor for Manufacturing Policy: "More than 2 million Americans have lost their factory jobs during this recession.  The crisis in manufacturing has never been more acute.  That’s why it is especially good news that President Obama has named Ron Bloom as the Administration’s Senior Counselor for Manufacturing Policy.  "Ron has a 360-degree view of manufacturing and has navigated difficult issues in restructuring key industrial sectors.  He understands the value of manufacturing to economic growth, jobs, a vibrant middle class, and our national security.  Ron also knows how to work with labor and management in a cooperative and productive manner, an attribute we especially value at the Alliance for American Manufacturing. We look forward to working with Ron in this new role and to supporting fresh and imaginative public policies to help boost manufacturing."
