New poll finds majorities support infrastructure investment — and they want it to be American-made
Across party lines, big majorities of likely voters place infrastructure as a top policy priority, a new national survey finds. Voters also overwhelmingly back Buy America policies that ensure all materials used in all federally funded infrastructure projects are Made in America.
Jobs, safety, and the cost of waiting for all given by voters as reasons for wanting action on infrastructure. They are especially supportive of Buy America, with 80% of voters saying they favor policies that require that taxpayer-funded infrastructure projects use American-made goods and materials.
This support extends across party and demographic lines, as 75% of Democrats, 77% of independents, and 88% of Republicans are all in favor of Buy America. Meanwhile, 79% of Black voters, 78% of Hispanic voters, and 81% of white voters say they favor Buy America.
