Washington, D.C. — Nearly four out of five Americans (77%) prefer to buy Made in America gifts this holiday season and would buy more American-made goods if they were more widely available, according to new polling. The 2024 Made in America Holiday Gift Guide makes local shopping effortless, spotlighting 112 manufacturers and makers from across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Shoppers can browse products by state or product category.

Interviews with local manufacturers and makers as well as Made in America shopping experts are available upon request. 

MADE IN AMERICA GIFTS FOR EVERYONE:

  • Made in USA toy companies that make everything from building sets and puzzles to dollhouses, playhouses, and ride-on vehicles
  • More than two dozen companies that make apparel, jewelry, shoes and accessories stateside
  • Plenty of gifts for hobbyists and outdoorsmen, from embroidery kits and musical instruments to basketball hoops, pickleball rackets, skateboards, and snowboards
  • Nearly three dozen items for the home, from decor to kitchenware to tools and more
  • Creative ideas for stocking stuffers, holiday cards, and wrapping paper

POLL SHOWS OVERWHELMING CONSUMER INTEREST:

  • The vast majority of Americans (77%) prefer to buy holiday gifts that are Made in the United States.
  • Three in five Americans (60%) have made a conscious effort to buy American-made products in the past year.
  • An overwhelming majority (82%) of shoppers say they would buy more American-made goods if they were more widely sold by large retailers. 
  • Most shoppers (82%) believe online retailers should include country of origin labels for products.

“We know that shoppers want to support our nation’s manufacturers and makers this holiday season. More retailers should wake up to this demand and sell Made in America shopping options more widely and more prominently,” Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul said. 

“American manufacturing is the beating heart of our nation’s economy and communities,” Paul said. “As we celebrate the holiday season, buying American-made allows consumers to support their neighbors while finding an exceptional gift. It’s a win-win all around.”
