Washington, D.C. — A bipartisan bill requiring the federal government to buy American flags that are 100% Made in America passed the House on Monday and now makes its way to the President’s desk. The All-American Flag Act, which was introduced by Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.), and Gary Peters (D-Mich.) in 2023, was unanimously voted for passage in the Senate in November.

“The All-American Flag Act ensures that our country’s greatest symbol, the American flag, is more than just for show. This bill will guarantee that every thread stitched into our ‘Stars and Stripes’ will represent the hardworking men and women who have built our country. There’s nothing more patriotic than that,” Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul said.

Currently, the federal government is only legally required to purchase flags that contain just 50% American-made materials.

Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul is available for interview.
