
As the Vice President of State Governmental Affairs at the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM), Brian Lombardozzi brings nearly 20 years of experience forming and maintaining coalitions, building campaigns comprised of grassroots organizing and nimble communications, and implementing international, federal, and state legislative strategies that play to the strengths of the coalitions and the issues being addressed.
A seasoned multitasker, Brian runs AAM’s 50 state legislative program, manages AAM’s Advocacy Coordinators around the country, and assists on federal policy work related to industrial decarbonization and transportation procurement. Brian’s state level work has seen states like California, Florida, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, and Virginia pass laws to strengthen the domestic job creation potential of their procurement spending. On the federal level, Brian’s work contributed to the adoption of the United States’ first Buy Clean procurement program, established via Executive Order and further developed and funded through the Inflation Reduction Act, as well as the Build America Buy America Act passed as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
Brian represents AAM’s stakeholders on the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee’s Finance Council, the Republican Legislative Campaign Committee and maintains AAM’s relationships with the Republican State Legislative Committee, the Republican Governors Association and the Democratic Governors Association.
Prior to joining AAM, Brian served as the Senior Policy Analyst for the BlueGreen Alliance, joining from the Apollo Alliance in July 2011, where his work focused on manufacturing, energy, and transportation policy strategies that specialized in making key connections between the business, labor, environmental and economic justice communities.
Additionally, Brian served as a member of the Executive Committee of Transportation For America and served on the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee.
Brian previously served for four years as the Policy Analyst at the AFL-CIO’s Transportation Trades Department and served as a Liaison to the Labor Advisory Committee on Trade Negotiations and Trade Policy at the U.S. Department of Labor.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Brian received a Master’s Degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in Washington, D.C., as well as both a Bachelor’s in International Service and Spanish and Latin American Area Studies, also from American University.
