It’s Time to Rebuild America
After decades of delay, the United States is finally getting to work on repairing its crumbling infrastructure. But the job isn’t done yet.
When Congress passed the $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in 2021, it marked a major step forward toward building a stronger, more competitive country. America’s roads, bridges, water systems, airports, railways, public transit, schools, ports, broadband networks, electrical grid, and more had been falling apart for decades – and the new law provided the historic funding needed to get things back into shape.
But now the hard work of rebuilding infrastructure begins, and the United States must get the job done right. This includes applying Buy America preferences to ensure that all new infrastructure is Made in America. At the same time, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law cannot be a once-in-a-century moment; the United States simply must continue to invest in its infrastructure, so things don’t fall into disrepair once again.
