Allen Edmonds launches shoe collection with men’s wear designer Joseph Abboud.
Iconic men’s wear designer Joseph Abboud has partnered with another Made in America fashion legend — Allen Edmonds — for a limited edition artisanal shoe collection. The collection is part of Allen Edmonds’ Artisans of Freedom campaign, which spotlights several American manufacturers, showcasing American manufacturing’s enduring legacy of quality, a value integral to the Allen Edmonds’ success.
Since its founding in 1922, Allen Edmonds, now based in Port Washington, Wis., has perfected the art of shoemaking with a painstaking attention to detail that has made the brand synonymous with excellence. So, naturally, when the company sought collaborators for its Artisans of Freedom project, it joined with Joseph Abboud’s brand, which is also distinguished for its timeless quality.
Abboud began his career in fashion working for Polo Ralph Lauren before launching his own namesake brand in 1987. Since then, Abboud has been recognized numerous times for his work, winning Menswear Designer of the Year twice in both 1989 and 1990 and MR magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.
“I am honored to collaborate with a company with as rich of a heritage as Allen Edmonds, that shares the same beliefs in American made quality and manufacturing as I do,” Abboud said in a press release.
The collection features 18 shoe styles, including fashion-forward monk straps, cap toes and chukka boots, to complement everything from workwear to evening apparel. Of course, each shoe is crafted with the premium leathers and 360-degree bench welt construction that distinguishes Allen Edmonds shoes.
