Now it’s up to the House to finish the job.
Last week the U.S. Senate passed its version of the Water Resources Development Act of 2016 (WRDA), an annual bill that authorizes and de-authorizes various water-related development projects.
This kinda stuff is beyond important, as it guarantees that American citizens can rely on public infrastructure for safe potable water.
Bonus: Every dollar spent on water infrastructure generates more than $6 in returns.
Double bonus: Buy America rules, which the Senate WRDA bill includes, is wealth-creating.
The Senate bill that just passed? It includes cash for Flint, Michigan, which has well-publicized and immediate drinking water problems.
That’s why the House needs to pick this bill up right now. Let ’em know that now isn’t the time to kick the funding can around. It needs to pass WRDA immediately.
