AAM Road Trip: CPAC 2015

AAM brings an economic message to one of the year’s biggest political gatherings.

This week, the Alliance for American Manufacturing is taking its show on the road – for a solid 20 or 30 minutes, depending on traffic – and heading down to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the annual gathering of conservative political activists in suburban Washington, DC.

AAM is no stranger to the CPAC floor. Last year, we were one of only a few organizations on the convention floor talking about the economy – the policies we need to grow it, and to grow jobs. Luckily, we’ve got a good American-made message to share with everyone – left, right, or center. But truth be told, we’re really psyched to see a line-up of conservative heavy hitters, a veritable Who’s Who of 2016’s potential Republican presidential nominees, as they sell their bonafides to the party faithful. Will they talk jobs, infrastructure, tax reform, and trade? We hope so.

Among them will be:

  • Bobby Jindal, who is trying to pump money in a new workforce development program in Louisiana, but is having a heckuva time with its funding;

  • Chris Christie, who is not a fan of Buy America rules that keep New Jersey infrastructure American-made;

  • Joni Ernst, who wants a Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal signed (no word on what she thinks about job-killing currency manipulation, though);

  • And Jeb Bush? Open to corporate tax reform.

At CPAC? Stop by AAM's booth and say hello (and get some American-made swag).
