Melissa Gilliam is an intern for fall 2018. Melissa is from Farmville, Va., and is completing her last semester at James Madison University through the university’s Washington Semester program. Upon completing the semester, Melissa will receive her bachelor's degree in public policy and administration with a policy concentration. Melissa’s passion for helping others shows in her community engagement, including by serving as a senator for the Student Government Association on the Diversity Committee.
Melissa recognizes the prominence of American manufacturing as it critically contributes to a stronger, more united nation.
Melissa aspires to obtain a career in advocacy and public policy making great efforts to reduce social inequality.
