usflag It has come to the attention of ManufactureThis that two new manufacturing facilities are popping up the United States.  The creation of new plants and factories not only creates manufacturing jobs, but allows the American economy to be more self-sustainable, cuts shipping costs, and creates a positive ripple effect of job creation in other sectors within local communities. The first facility provides an excellent example of how green energy manufacturing can create jobs.  A commerical bus dealership, Creative Bus Sales will be opening an alternative fuel conversion facility in Elkhart, IN. The 30,000-square-foot facility will convert gasoline-powered buses, trucks and vans to run on either propane or compressed natural gas.  It will be called "Green Alternative Systems" or GAS.  Also, Great Dane Trailers has announced their plan to build a new manufacturing facility situated a couple of hundred miles southeast of Atlanta in Statesboro.  The company hopes that the facility, which will manufacture refrigerated trailers, will create over 400 jobs in the next four years. Georgia Governor Sunny Perdue said of the announcement, "Great Dane is an important part of the nation’s supply-chain logistics infrastructure, and Georgia's deep background and workforce expertise in both logistics and manufacturing is an ideal match for the company’s needs." Do you know what refrigerated trailers run on? Have they been switched to propane or natural gas or something completely different? It seems amazing that the new job for fridge trailers will provide 400 people with jobs. Thanks for the article.
