early-shift_thumbnail.jpg China’s Minister of Commerce says we need to “stop protectionism” and gets prime real estate in today’s Wall Street Journal to make his case.  No mention of China’s currency misalignment, massive industrial subsidies, or other mercantilist practices.  Anderson, Indiana, home of one of high school basketball’s greatest gyms (the Wigwam) weighs in on President Obama’s first 100 days.  Driving the auto news today:  GM announces plans to lay off 21,000 factory workers next year, while Chrysler and the UAW reach an agreement on wage and retiree health issues. Climate Change is a hot issue (almost as hot as D.C.'s 92 degree April weather).  But some industrial states' Democrats are hard sells on cap-and-trade legislation.
