The Early Shift

early-shift_thumbnail.jpg The trade deficit dampens forecasts for U.S. GDP growth in the second quarter.  In a related development, the Fed also sees slower U.S. growth.  Leo Hindery, Jr., wonders where the Barack Obama of 2008 is now, particularly on trade policy.  Robert Reich says voters are angry because they are hurting economically.  President Obama will visit the groundbreaking of a new electric vehicle battery plant in Holland, Michigan.  One catch: it’s owned by the Korean firm LG Chem.  Need a job?  Chinese companies are seeking Westerners to give them a good business image.
