More discussion of the Granite City Rally

Steelworker Doug May published a very good letter in yesterday's St. Louis Post Dispatch in which he rebutted some of the false claims made about recent calls for American-made steel pipe in pendng construction projects. As May summarized: "Whipping up patriotic-led protectionism was not the purpose of the rally organized by the United Steelworkers in Granite City on Tuesday, April 7. Enforcement of existing trade laws that makes domestic steelmakers very competitive in a global market was the message they wanted to convey."
ManufactureThis has continually noted the need for strong enforcement of existing U.S. trade law to address foreign dumping, subsidies, and currency manipulation. We congratulate Doug May on arguing the same point.
Strong trade laws should be the foundation of sound American trade policy. To read more about the benefits of enforcing trade laws, click here.
