Made in New York

ManufactureThis recently featured a piece on the Save the Garment Center campaign. In follow-up, we thought we'd mention some new clothing labels like the Row, Jason Wu, Nellie Partow, Waris Ahluwalia, and Prabal Gurung that are proudly Made in USA. And not only that, these brands are proclaiming their "Made in New York" roots in order to, as the Wall Street Journal points out, "link locally-made clothes with artisanal values to promote stitched-in-New York sales."
These labels have joined together for "Made in Midtown," a campaign that looks to make shoppers more conscious of the impact of their purchases.
Essentially, these designers are saying Think locally...Buy American-Made.
