Congress takes a stand against China

Congress is standing up for American manufacturing recently as Congressmen have pushed Sec. Geithner to take a hard line on China's currency manipulation and a Buy America amendment was adopted this morning in the House.
Additionally, Representative Debbie Halvorson (D-IL) testified at a hearing for the U.S. International Trade Commission yesterday and called for China to end unfair trade practices that are causing job loss in her state.
Halvorson stated:
“As we work to put our economy back on track we need to make sure that jobs in Illinois stay right here, and with China engaging in unfair trade practices, that is becoming increasingly difficult. “I have called on the U.S. International Trade Commission to take action that will encourage China to play by the same rules the rest as the rest of the world. I know that when our working families and businesses compete on a level playing field, we can out-manufacture anyone in the world. This is about a level playing field for our local businesses.”Read the press release here.
