The Early Shift

early-shift_thumbnail.jpg The U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) has concluded and Secretary of State Clinton's remarks focus on foreign policy concerns.  Unfortunately, Iran dominated the talks, with little discussion of the vexing problem of currency undervaluation. And so, as even the Wall Street Journal, agreed, if you "blinked," you missed the economic part of the S&ED.  That means no real talks and no progress on currency. In other news, Ford Motor Company announced that it will invest $135 million in two Michigan factories to design, engineer, and build key green vehicle parts for hybrid cars.  This battery pack and hybrid vehicle transmission production is currently done in Mexico and Japan, but bringing it back to the two Michigan factories will create roughly 40 new U.S. jobs.   The move will result in 40 new jobs at the company's
