Rouses Point and Pearl River, New York; Richmond, Virginia: As part of an overall effort to cut costs, Pfizer Inc. is closing eight manufacturing plants and scaling back operations at six other sites worldwide, eliminating 6,000 jobs as part of a previously announced plan to trim its workforce. These cuts include two planty closures in New York State and one in Virginia.
