Brooklyn Brewery

Jul 07 2017 |

Brewing beer is a longtime tradition in New York City, and a lot of it happened in Brooklyn. Prohibition and the temperance movement killed off many of the Big Apple’s breweries, but the Brooklyn Brewery has been able to bring some of the tradition back to life. The brewery was founded by Tom Potter and his neighbor Steve Hindy, who learned how to brew while reporting abroad as a correspondent for the Associated Press. Since 1994, Garrett Oliver has served as brewmaster for the popular brand.
