WTO vindicates U.S. decision to impose duties on imports of Chinese tires

The World Trade Organization (WTO) has rejected all claims against U.S. duties imposed on Chinese tire imports. U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Ron Kirk called this a "major victory."
The WTO rejected China's complaints that U.S. duties on Chinese tires violate global trade rules.
This past September, the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) issued a report demonstrating why the duties on unfairly subsidized imports of Chinese tires were an appropriate remedy, and one that has succeeded in revitalizing U.S. production of commercial tires.
