The latest monthly jobs and trade data was released this morning.  There was some good news and some bad news for manufacturing.

At-risk auto parts jobs comprise a large portion of the U.S. auto industry.

ArcelorMittal is hiring 150 new workers, but says Buy America laws need to be strengthened in order to keep U.S. steel jobs.

The Brown-Merkley amendment to the transportation bill, which would close loopholes that send taxpayer dollars overseas, reached the Senate floor.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) spoke out against China’s massive subsidies and their effect on the U.S. auto parts industry.
