U.S. industrial capacity is up, manufacturing still powering economic expansion

According to a Bloomberg News survey, industrial production rose in the month of January. This indicates that manufacturing has remained at the forefront of economic expansion.

According to Bloomberg:

“Output at factories, mines and utilities rose 0.7 percent, the biggest gain in six months, according to the median estimate of 81 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. Manufacturing in the New York region picked up this month and homebuilder confidence climbed to the highest level since mid-2007.”

This is good news, but we still have a long way to go.  It’s time for the Obama Administration and Congress to step up to the plate and boost manufacturing.
