Shift Changes: Amusement park games-- Made in USA again by Bob's Space Racers

Parents around the U.S.A. are familiar with Chuck E. Cheese.  It's a place to take their kids for games, rides, pizza, and fun.

Here's some good news about Chuck E. Cheese, though: Many of their games are Made-in-USA by Daytona Beach, Florida-based Bob's Space Racers (BSR).

BSR supplies Chuck E. Cheese with such popular American-made games as Bongo Beat and Water Blast

BSR's CFO Mike Lane says that even the legendary Whac-A-Mole game is being made in the U.S. again.  Lane explains that Whac-A-Mole was originally made in USA, but then was manufactured exclusively in China.

Now, however, some Whac-A-Mole games are being manufactured in the U.S.  Lane says, the company tries to bring production back to the U.S. when it can:

"The costs are more equal now, so we're able to manufacture some of these products in the U.S.  Labor costs in China are increasing.  Shipping across the ocean is expensive.  Plus, we have better quality control in the U.S.  If we manufacture in China, we have to make trips there for inspections.  These additional items add to our costs.  It just becomes easier to make our products here in the U.S."

Congrats to Bob's Space Racers on their decision to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.
