House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer plays up manufacturing and cracking down on China’s currency manipulation today. Alan Tonelson points out the record of former trade officials who oppose a congressional move on currency. (It's bad.) Manufacturing activity was down in the Midwest last month, according to the Chicago Fed. General Electric enters a joint venture with a Chinese firm to make wind turbines...in China.
