Senate may consider China currency bill next week

There are reports that the Senate may soon be voting on a currency manipulation bill, according to Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV).

National Journal reports [subscription required]:

Reid also said the Senate would vote on a separate bill to authorize tariffs on Chinese imports to retaliate against the undervalued Chinese yuan.

A Democratic leadership aide said Reid has not yet decided which of two competing China currency bill to bring up. Reid must decide between a version sponsored by Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, which passed the House last year, or a separate measure, pushed by Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and others. The senators’ staffs are discussing whether they can merge the bills, the aide said."

Which bill is better for Main Street?

I'd like to contact my Senator (Dick Durbin D-IL) about supporting a particular bill, but which one is better for domestic manufacturers?
