Monthly U.S. trade deficit with China increases in May

The monthly U.S. international trade deficit fell slightly in May 2012, to $48.7 billion, down from $50.6 billion in April.

Significantly, the monthly goods trade deficit with China climbed for the third straight month, to $26.0 billion in May, up from $24.6 billion in April.
