NYT: Right now there are four workers for every open job in the United States. This may sound high, but it’s an improvement from two years ago, when there were seven workers for each opening.

Time: What do Americans think about China?

Germany, a nation with a strong manufacturing strategy, was ranked the top location to do business in Europe (IW).  But China’s subsidies are driving down the demand for German machinery (WSJ).

WaPo: China’s inflation has outpaced most consumer prices, and now threatens to overtake food prices as well.

WSJ: Goldman Sachs has launched a yuan private equity fund with Beijing.
