Los Angeles dominates American-made clothing industry

Over the past decade or so, the media has reported on U.S. companies manufacturing their clothing overseas. The garment manufacturing industry that still exists in the United States employs roughly 400,000 people, and just over a quarter of them are located in Los Angeles. In fact, Los Angeles County is the biggest manufacturing county in the U.S., with apparel its largest sector.
