Latest ISM report shows manufacturing sector expanded slightly in May 2012

Economic activity in the manufacturing sector expanded in May for the 34th consecutive month, and the overall economy grew for the 36th consecutive month, according to the latest Manufacturing ISM Report On Business. However, the report's index registered 53.5 percent, a modest decrease of 1.3 percentage points from April's reading of 54.8 percent.
