The EU is “deeply dissatisfied” with China’s limits on rare earth exports (FT). This comes only two weeks after the WTO says China is in violation of world trade rules on raw material exports (BW).
USAT: Nearly 17,000 apply for jobs at Ford’s Louisville, KY, assembly plant.
WSJ: China is bungling its efforts to make the Yuan more international. (Is anyone really surprised by this?)
Bloomberg: A look at Elkhart, Indiana, where unemployment was over 20% in March 2009: its mayor estimates the jobless rate won’t return to low levels for 12 more years.
