NPR reports that, because the price of gold keeps soaring, gold mining has picked up in Nevada.

Some residents of Elko, Nevada are taking advantage of the gold rush by opening a truck repair shop to service the fleet of mining trucks constantly driving through the area.

The gold boom might be fleeting, though.  Just to be cautious, Elko's mayor is reportedly "trying to run the town like it could crash at any moment. The city doesn't borrow much, and makes a lot of payments in cash."
