Great quote from Rep. Randy Forbes on U.S. Acquiescence to China
U.S. Rep. Randy Forbes strongly criticized President Barack Obama’s lavish White House state dinner for Chinese President Hu Jintao, saying Friday that American leaders were wrong to honor China’s success rather than challenge its growing influence. He offered a great quote on the failings of U.S.-China trade:
“We were toasting the fact that we had traded our technology to a country that used it to build their weapons systems, their space programs and their business models to compete with the United States. And what did they give us back? They gave us children’s toys, pet food and tainted drywall. … The second thing we did is, we gave them our cash, and they gave us back an indebtedness that will hang around our children and our grandchildren for decades.”
