Orvis, the iconic men's sporting go
ods company and oldest mail-order retailer in the U.S. recently introduced a new line of Made-in-USA apparel that pays homage to the company’s rich American history.
Named after the now expired patent issued to Charles F. Orvis for a fly fishing reel in 1874, the Orvis US Patent No. 150,883 collection includes a full selection of American-made clothing and accessories for men.
According to Orvis, the line was named after one of the company’s original patents “because the idea of a United States patent, Like the Orvis reel, speaks to the craftsmanship, tradition and pride that comes with stamping four words onto the label of a product: MADE IN THE USA.”
