Farewell Levon Helm (1940-2012)

Posted by scapozzola on 04/21/2012

Over the span of roughly eight years (from 1968-1976), The Band recorded some of the most influential music in American history. And singing lead vocals on their greatest songs, including "The Weight," "Up On Cripple Creek," and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," was their drummer, Levon Helm.

Helm passed away this week.  It's only fitting that a blog dedicated to "Made in America" should pay tribute to Arkansas native Helm and his enduring contributions to a music humbly referred to as "Americana."
