Behind the Made-In-America label

An article in this February's Consumer Reports highlights a trend dear to our hearts: Shoppers like stuff made in America.
A survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center found that:
- Given the choice between an American-made product and one made abroad, 78 percent of respondents would buy American.
- More than 80 percent of that group said retaining manufacturing jobs and keeping our manufacturing sector strong were very important reasons for buying American.
- About 60 percent of that group cited concern with overseas labor abuses and said that American-made goods were of higher quality.

Made in America, Again
As many manufacturers are bringing back their factories to the USA, consumers play an important role in their/our success. We must insist on buying only American made products. Manufacturing in America means more jobs for Americans. But we must buy their products! Plain and simple.
KB Footwear Company, former Knapp Shoes since 1921, is making protective footwear for working Americans, "Made in America, Again®."

Behind the Made-In-America label
I think the future holds a societal force to "demand" manufacturing jobs return to America. It is not enough to design here. It is not enough to assemble here. Manufacturing must return also. We can not penalize the "Made in America" assemblers and designers. We must reward the Manufacturers.
