While GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan stumps for votes in Ohio today, acting U.S. Commerce Secretary Rebecca Blank joined several Obama Administration officials to announce the launch of a new public-private institute for manufacturing innovation in Youngstown, Ohio.
The initiative, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute (NAMII), will award funding to manufacturing firms, universities, community colleges, and non-profit organizations for advances in "additive manufacturing," often referred to as 3D printing.
